The NOSHOK 25-300-30/30-psi/bar-SL is a 2-1/2″ brass case gauge with a compound range from −30 inHg vacuum to 30 psi, a 1/4″ NPT male bottom connection, a psi/bar dial and silicone fill.
The code: 25 for the dial; 300 for the brass bottom-connection case; 30/30 for the −30 inHg to 30 psi compound range; psi/bar for the scales; and SL for silicone fill.
This model shares the silicone fill of the 25-300-2000-psi/bar-SL but serves a different purpose. The low compound range spreads vacuum and low positive pressure across the full dial, which suits pump suction lines, vacuum-assisted fill systems, low-pressure tank blanketing and refrigeration or HVAC service, where readings move on both sides of zero. Glycerin’s viscosity rises noticeably in cold conditions, making a low-range pointer sluggish. NOSHOK lists silicone as the alternative when temperature or viscosity requirements fall outside what glycerin can handle, so this gauge is a better fit for unheated rooms and outdoor equipment. As with glycerin, silicone is not suitable for chlorine or oxygen service.
At this range, the gauge uses NOSHOK’s copper alloy C-type Bourdon tube, standard on 2-1/2″ brass gauges up to 600 psi. The psi/bar dial shows both units, which is useful on equipment documented in metric units.
